Cumulative satellite-detected mudflow and rockflow extent derived from Sentinel-2 imagery acquired on 27 August 2026 and PlanetScope imagery acquired on 26 August 2026. A single multipart polygon of 23 rings covering approximately 37 km² along the affected river corridors of Rasuwa and Nuwakot Districts, Bagmati Province, Nepal. Projected in WGS 84 / UTM zone 45N (EPSG:32645). This is a preliminary analysis and has not yet been validated in the field.

The area analysed by UNOSAT to derive the mudflow and rockflow extent, covering approximately 363 km² across Rasuwa and Nuwakot Districts, Bagmati Province, Nepal. Absence of mapped extent outside this polygon does not imply absence of impact. WGS 84 (EPSG:4326).

Rectangular bounding frame of UNOSAT map products 4257 and 4258, covering approximately 3,091 km². This is the map's area of interest, not the area analysed — for that, see the Analysis Extent resource. The attribute table carries no values. Web Mercator (EPSG:3857).

Copernicus Sentinel-2 imagery acquired 27 August 2026 and Planet PlanetScope imagery acquired 26 August 2026. Mudflow and rockflow extent delineated by UNOSAT and released as products 4257 and 4258 on 27 August 2026. Population exposure estimated against WorldPop spatial demographic data. Preliminary — not validated in the field. |
